Every Tribe bike now comes with a 24 month warranty on the bike, the electronics and the non-consumable parts. It used to be 12.
If you already own a Tribe, this applies to you too. You do not need to register, claim anything or send us an email. Your bike is covered for 24 months from the day it was delivered.
Why we have done it
Because our bikes do not break very often
That is the honest reason it is easy for us to do. We are a small operation with four bikes we ride ourselves, and warranty claims are not a big part of our week. Doubling the term is not a big commercial risk for us, and if it is not a risk for us then it should not be a question for you.
Because we were quietly doing it anyway
If somebody came to us at 15 months or 20 months with a genuine problem, we helped them. Every time. That was never written down anywhere, which meant you had to already trust us to find out. Putting it in writing costs us nothing we were not already spending, and it gives you something to point at.
Because we back what we build
We spec these bikes to carry the people you care most about, up hills, in the rain, five days a week. If we are asking you to put your kids in the box, a longer warranty is the least we can do to show we mean it.
Because it should not depend on where you bought it
The two year term used to exist only for Tribe Locals members and for bikes bought through our bike shop partners. That was a strange thing to make people qualify for. Now it is just the warranty.
What is covered
The 24 months covers the battery and motor system, the wooden panels of the cargo box, and the non wear and tear parts including the frame, fenders, saddle, seat post, brake calipers and levers, gear shifter, rear rack, and the pivot shaft and bearings.
Wear and tear items are not covered, and that has not changed: tyres, tubes, valves, wheels, spokes, brake pads, grips, bell, chain, cables, reflectors and derailleurs. We keep spare parts on the shelf for those, so email us and we will get them to you.
The full terms are on our warranty page.
If something goes wrong
Email hello@tribebikes.com.au with what has happened and a few photos. We will come back to you and tell you what happens next. Usually that means we ship the parts and arrange a mobile mechanic to fit them at a time that suits you, if there is one in your area.
Or call us on 02 5018 7423 and talk to a human.
